On 25 and 26 March 2024, H.E. Hassani Iddi Mwamweta, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania in the Federal Republic of Germany, made a working visit to the State of Thuringia in Germany. The purpose of the visit was to introduce himself to the leadership of the State and hold discussions that would create new opportunities for cooperation as well as strengthen existing cooperation. During the visit, Ambassador Mwamweta held talks with various leaders of the State of Thuringia, including Hon. Doreen Denstädt, Minister of Immigration Justice and Consumer Protection of the State of Thuringia; Hon. Georg Maier, Minister of the Internal Affairs of Thuringia; Mr. Carsten Feller, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, Science and Digital Affairs of the State of Thuringia; Mrs. Tina Beer, General Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of Thuringia. The Ambassador also visited the museum of the famous ancient library of Thuringia, known as Ana Amalia Library.
During the visit, essential issues emerged, including establishing City Twinning between Weimer City and Stone Town City of Zanzibar, the German Professional School Program for Tanzania, and the Opening of the Honorary Consular Office in Thuringia.
