H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, led a high-level delegation on a successful official visit to Hungary from 20–24 February 2025, marking the first such visit in nearly five decades. The visit underscored Tanzania’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Hungary in key sectors including water management, trade and investment, education, health, energy, culture, and parliamentary diplomacy.
Key outcomes included Hungary’s decision to open an Embassy Office in Dar es Salaam, progress on the Biharamulo Water Project, strengthened education and health partnerships, and enhanced collaboration with Hungarian private sector entities. This historic engagement paves the way for a new chapter in Tanzania-Hungary relations rooted in mutual respect, shared development goals, and strategic partnership.
