His Excellency Hassani Iddi Mwamweta, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Federal Republic of Germany, had the honor of visiting the beautiful city of Hamburg, where he observed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the City of Dar es Salaam and the City of Hamburg.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between the two cities in important areas like urban development, infrastructure, environmental management, and cultural exchange. It marks a new chapter in the long-standing friendship between Tanzania and Germany, especially through the partnership of their major port cities.

During his visit, Ambassador Mwamweta had the privilege of engaging with several distinguished leaders of Hamburg, including:

Hon. Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of Hamburg

Hon. Katharina Fegebank, Second Mayor of Hamburg

Ms. Liv Assman, State Secretary of Hamburg

The event was also attended by H.E. Thomas Terstegen, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the United Republic of Tanzania, along with officials from the Dar es Salaam City Council and representatives from various organizations in both Tanzania and Germany.

Ambassador Mwamweta commended the initiative as a reflection of the strong and growing relations between the two countries, emphasizing that cooperation at the city level enhances mutual understanding and contributes to sustainable development for both sides.
